The 50 Million Pound Challenge is a historic opportunity for African Americans to come together against a growing health crisis. This challenge was created by Dr. Ian K. Smith. Our challenge is to collectively lose 50 million pounds and reduce the very real risks that being overweight pose to our community.
The 50 Million Pound Challenge website will now accept teams.

We will have our own organization-wide contest pitting chapter against chapter. We will total the pounds lost by each team and choose a winner based on the percentage of pounds lost per member thereby leveling the field between chapters of different sizes.
The contest will last throughout the end of 2007, and we will find an appropriate prize to be awarded for the winning chapter. The contest is sponsored by State Farm.
