OFFICERS
PRESIDENT: Garland Thompson, president@nbmbaa-philly.org , (215) 472-2622, ext. 5
- Presides at all meetings of the membership, and of the Executive Committee.
- Serves as an ex-officio member of all committees, except the Nominating Committee.
- Appoints special committees as the need arises.
- Appoints the chairpersons of all committees.
- Serves as the liaison between the National Organization and the local chapter.
- Disseminates all information gathered from the National Organization and the other chapters to general membership in a timely fashion.
- Attend, or send a representative to, the quarterly board meetings at which chapter representation is mandatory.
- Works with the Executive Committee to identify two or more members in good standing for the leadership succession plan.
- Performs the duties of the President in the absence of the President, or upon the resignation of the President.
- Assists the President in the administration of the organization.
- Performs such duties as may be assigned.
- Performs the duties of the President in the absence of the President and Vice President - Administration, or upon the resignation of both.
- Assists the President in the administration of the organization.
- Is responsible for the overall coordination of the chairperson of the various committees of the Chapter.
- Is responsible for the revisions and implementation of the Rules and By-Laws of the organization.
- Receives and deposit the funds of the organization, and disburse them when necessary.
- Maintains the financial records of the organization, and submit a written annual financial statement to all members of the organization after the books have been audited each year.
- Provides a report of the financial status of the organization at each regular monthly meeting.
- Establishes proper accounting procedures for the handling of the Chapter's funds.
- Signs all checks, warrants, or vouchers for payment.

This challenging program has had a stimulating influence on high school students with a grade point average between C- and C+. These students have exhibited leadership potential, but require additional motivating people and factors in their lives to realize their full potential.
Our chapter needs mentors who are available to tutor, lead workshops, chaperone students on college tours and to the NBMBAA Annual Conference, and administer scholarship programs for college-bound students.

Focuses on collective agendas of all the various committees within the organization and provide direction with strategic initiatives focused on Economic and Community Development in Philadelphia. Works with community partners who understand the needs of individuals, families and organizations in Philadelphia, the NBMBAA will be able to maximize our potential and match our resources with the needs of the community.

- Coordinates the recruitment of applicants.
- Receives applications for membership.
- Reviews all applications.
- Notifies new members of membership acceptance.
- Hosts the Annual Membership Drive.
- Maintains an up-to-date record of the names and addresses of the members.

- Responsible for preparing and carrying out the programs of the organization.
- Arranges the date, time, place, and all such details for the organization's meetings.
- Coordinates with VP of Communications and Membership Chairperson on information necessary to publicize meetings and events.
STUDENT AFFAIRS: Moses Mitchell, studentaffairs@nbmbaa-philly.org
- Promotes business education in all aspects to minority high school students, college students and entrepreneurs.
- Provides data on graduate business management scholarship availability to minority college students and interested members of the community.
- Maintains communication with local Graduate Business Schools.
MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS: Ebony Patterson, marketing@nbmbaa-philly.org
- Responsible for communicating the mission, goals and activities of the organization to the corporate and African-American Communities.
- Ensured community awareness of the organization’s mission, goals and activities.
- Develops and executes activities that impact positively upon the African American community.
FINANCE: Sonya Burrus,financechair@nbmbaa-philly.org
- Composes the budget of the organization and its committees.
- Tracks, records and reconciles the financial activities of the organizations.
- Communicate the financial standing of the organization to the Executive Committee monthly.
- Presides over any necessary audits and official financial filings, including IRS, PA State or others as deemed necessary by the President.
