Career Day at Frankford High School!

On Friday, May 20, 2011, I had the opportunity to join several professionals in the Philadelphia to motivate, encourage and inspire the students of Frankford High School during their annual career day. There were representatives from over 20 different businesses and I was proud to be representing both my company and NBMBAA.
The program began with a welcome address from the school leadership, followed by rotational visits to different classrooms by the professionals partaking in the event. We had the opportunity to interact with students in all grades (9-12), sharing our stories of personal growth and professional development. The most impactful moments, for me, were when the students realized that several of us came from backgrounds similar to theirs, and they learned that with hard work, education, and a support system of mentors, that anything is possible. This event makes me further realize the importance of organizations such as NBMBAA, and the impact that we have on the communities we serve.
